The  Lovrin Equine Ltd  site does offer schooling facilities on the premises (see Livery Facilities & Livery Service pages), but the site is also ideally located for easy access to a wide variety of exceptional off-site sports and leisure riding oportunities.

Firstly, for those who love hacking, there are two major attractions. The Lovrin site is fairly centrally positioned within, and provides immediate access onto an extensive local network of  broad crofters' grass verges which run adjacent the majority of local lanes and roads in the vacinity. With the tight cluster of Wolds villages typically each only a couple of miles apart, these form a latticework of mostly quiet and generally comfortably wide wayside carriageways to allow horses and riders the luxury of being both off the hard road surface and out of the immediate path of motor traffic.

Used selectively and sensibly, these crofters' verges  provide considerable scope for extended fast exercise. They also enable riders, on any one occassion, to choose from a wide variety of different possible circuits to ride - heading out to the north, south, east or west from the Lovrin site on any one of the 6 primary routes out of the village.

The second major attraction for those seeking exceptional hacking is open public access close at hand to a network of approximately 20 miles of  private and public bridle paths over the grounds and lands of the  Prestwold Hall  estate, at the centre of which stands a grand mansion owned and occupied by the Packe family for the past 350 years. The network provides several circular and linear routes over the estate which link up with public bridleways to give stunning views over the Leicestershire countryside. A bridlepath onto the estate is less than a mile to the south of the Lovrin site via an easy hack mostly on crofter's verges. For many years the Packe-Drury-Lowe family very generously sponsored thePrestwold Estate Riding Scheme (PERS) on a membership basis, and for a small nominal annual charitable donation, but today open public access is available under the Higher Level Stewardship scheme which has provided permissive access for 10 years (baring closure for up to 10 days per year) to walkers, riders and cyclists. Field Farm X-Country  course lies less than a mile to the East of the village, and is a short and pleasant hack via a bridle path and crofters' verges, while the  Aylesford-X-Country UK Chaser Course No. 20  is also near at hand, 5 miles East of Wymeswold on the A6006 near Shoby. Entry to the Aylesford course, which is 4 miles long and provides the option of three different sizes of jumps, is at a cost of a modest set fee per horse per visit.

Leicestershire is not only the county of the horse, but also that of the fox, where hunting is a long standing tradition and regional sporting activity which continues to ellicit overwhelming support from the local community. Wymeswold village falls within the Saturday country of the  Quorn Hunt,  and is adjacent the boundary of the southernmost range of the  South Notts. Hunt.

For Eventing enthusiasts,  Lovrin Equine Ltd's  immediate neighbours just north of Wymeswold at Cripwell Farm are Mark and Tanya Kyle, accredited British Eventing Trainers and members of the prestigious Professional Event Riders Association. Their Queenholme Eventing operation adjacent the Lovrin Equine Ltd  site boasts 90 acres of grassland, extensive stabling, and a substantial array of equine Event Training facilities. Riding 12


At Foxhill Polo Club, which  is located 3 miles south of Wymeswold between the villages of Burton-on-the-Wolds, Barrow-upon-Sour and Waltham-on-the-Wolds at LE12 8JX, world class players and complete beginners learn their polo skills from the experts.
